Major Problem with Dolphin 7.14 Private Membership

I have been modifying Dolphin 7.14 for a private couples website to get it looking like my old 6.05 website; finally got everything like I needed adding the mods and stuff and now realize that ANYONE in the world can just sign up for membership and then sign in without being activated by admin. Isn't there any way to fix it so members have to be approved before they can log in?Please , this is a big issue with me since all the time spent and money for mods.

Go to administration / settings / advanced settings / moderation and uncheck 'Auto activate profiles after joining'

Although I will give you a better way. Let them auto activate as a standard member and restrict what they can do. Then when you get the email, move them to the membership you wish them to be at.

The second way is the "only" way. 'Auto activate profiles after joining' is unchecked. And thank you for you help.

P.S. in 7.14 a member doesn't have to be activated in order to access the entire site.... it's as if a non active member is actually active, it just says he is inactive. But I am unchecking every entire block and module for promtional members only...it's just a lot more work. again thanks

There are a couple of free mods on the market that stop unconfirmed members from accessing the site. Also you could set it to invitation only if you wanted that level of control.

After setting membership standards for access , half the members signing up can't access anything.. no specific reason for it either, since the profiles I activate I give the exact same membership level to , promotional.
