Login so slow. All other pages OK. Whats wrong?

Can anybody point me in the right direction as to why it takes so long to login to my site?

Homepage and all other pages loading Ok, but on login it takes about half a minute!!

Why only the login page?

Appreciate any advice.

For testing load time, try this online tool:  http://tools.pingdom.com  

Look for "extra" components that take a long time to load and consider removing them.  

Look for common items that rarely change and use caching to reduce database access.  

Look for lists of featured items and consider reducing the number displayed, e.g. photos.

When I was testing I found one of my "add on" modules had to get info from a 3rd party site before it could load... removing it made a noticeable difference.

Yes, he posted another thread and it was answered there. His server wasn't connecting to the Boonex server. If it takes forever to login, you have boonex ads showing on a licensed site,  and your site isn't loading the boonex news then there is a connection problem. His host fixed it.
