Login Issue's

I am having all kinds of issue's with login.  I will put in the information then it try's to login but it sometimes just goes back to the login page BUT if I refresh the page it will login...

Is anyone else having to refresh the page after trying to login in order to ba able to login?  It really is a pain in the butt.

Also how do you deal with multiple Login's like setting up a profile for a member but as you do it the pages can jump back in forth from the newly created id to my id by simply jumping around pages?

This is a serious issue for office login's as if one member signs in it's possible that as they traverse the site the id could turn into the first user's id and with privacy viewing this can be a serious issue.  Please advise...

Sounds like you are having web browser caching issues.

Dolphin handles logons via cookies. It's up to the browser to store the cookie information. So if dolphin is getting the wrong information, then it's your browsers fault.

Dolphin creates a cookie with the name of memberID and it holds the members ID which the browser stores and passes it back to dolphin when dolphin requests it.

The browser can only have one cookie of that name unless the domain for each cookie is different.

So i would start by deleting your browsers cookies and cache.

Then keep track of the URLs your browser is showing when this happens. The only reason i can see that it may happen is if your copy of dolphin is allowing the site to be browsed by both yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com.

I have never seen this happen before, nor have i even heard of it happening.

Interesting but my member's are having to refresh their pages after the attempt to login.  I have to do the same all the time.  Any thoughts?  Deano can you see if you have an issue logging in and out.  I know you are member thanks... Maybe login in and try to log out then log back in?

This needs to be so much smoother... Any thought would be appreciated.... Can you leverage browser cache for a single page like login?

If so maybe someone can show me some code to put on that page to make it smoother?

I had the same issue and, wow, was that ever a pain.I didn't want to change my browser settings as everyone would have to do that and you shouldn't have to do that anyways. I noticed that when I used uni or a different template than the one I was using, all seemed fine. So I thought it might be template related. I deleted a template I was using and haven't had any problems since. And my site is so much faster now too!

Have you added any templates? See if it's a bad template that you're using. It might have a bug or two.
