License transfer on modules...

Have bought a few modules in the past that are license locked to a single domain.

I dont have a problem with this at all, BUT I dont agree with modules that are license locked and you are not allowed to transfer the license to another URL you own...

In one case, I have a module that was purchased, but only after purchasing and testing did I find out it caused problem with the template I was using. 

The problem was never resolved with the module developer as I was told the issue was in fact with the template... of course, the template works fine, the module doesnt unless you run UNI.

So, I requested if I can use the license for this module on another site instead of the first one, but am told the license can not be transferred. 

I dont see why not as the developer would know I am not able to use it on more than one site anyway...

Of course, was offered a 'discount' on further purchases of the module.... 

Yes, I don't like it.  In the future, ask developers about their license restrictions and avoid ones like this.  Unfortunately, their within their rights to have a fee for license updates.

I know, makes it difficult though when the module wont work with certain templates and any support just ends up saying its not a problem with the module...

Ive purchased this module 3 times already, thought maybe that would buy me some grace with changing at least 1 URL! ...
