Just an idea: make the modules responsive friendly

To all the module builders.

how hard is it to add a small note that says if the: module is responsive friendly.
I must say that most of the modules here have a lot of fixed width or height field blocks and if you have a responsive website it sucks when you are on a smartphone or tablet. I have been changing css files for days now... and as soon as there is a new update i have to do it all over again.

Which modules are you getting trouble with?

I use a responsive template and haven't found any issues with modules so far, I would have thought they would all scale to the column width so would be kinda 'responsive' anyway by design.

The responsive templates then give you the ability to scale the columns 'on the fly' and the module blocks with it.

Mine all work and I've tested with lots of modules..

I could be wrong - but since the modules take the design from the applied template, it would not be the template designers who can say if it will be responsive or not. The site builder would have to have a responsive template. Now i nsome cases, there are issues where things may not line up properly when using a responsive template - but that should be fixable by editing the template itself or using inline elements on module template pages. If you notice, the templates folder for a module has only a few files as I believe it was not intended to be prominent over site template. Seems like it would be too many conflicts that way.

I must say that that default modules are not the problem.
more likely 3rd party modules like IBDW photodeluxe and some other of  there mods.

I don't have IBDW modules for testing Im afraid.

All other 3rd party ones Ive used work fine in responsive template.

I would be very surprised if a module had a fixed width though, as they get their width from the adjustable page columns surely?

yeah but for some reason they have some.... :-(

if you can find the width settings for the block you  are working with (firebug it in firefox) then you could try setting the width to 100% if it has a fixed width.

Might need to change any other bits inside the block that also have a fixed width, but you would see this in firebug.
