Issues with moving a Dolphin 7 site.

Well, this is my  third attempt at moving (or migrating) my site to another server.

The first time I tried to move it to a $100/month VPS.  The attempt was a fail and I had to keep it where it was.

The second time I tried to move it to a $120/month VPS.  The attempt was also a fail and I had to keep it where it was.

This time I have purchased a quad core dedicated server with 8MB Ram ... for $255/month.  The migration is now in it's fourth day... (wish me luck)

I have changed my host file to point to the new location.  This way I can see how things are working before changing nameservers.

First thing I noticed: Site ran slower than on old location.  It also took a long time to first load the site (blank white page for about 10 seconds).

The second thing I noticed: The member menu bar at the bottom (when logged in) is no longer there.

Has anybody else experienced and/or solved similar issues after migrating a Dolphin 7 site?  Can anybody give me any ideas?  Thanks.

ps. I will keep you posted as to the success of this third (and hopefully final) move.

The third thing I noticed: When I go to Advanced Settings in Admin, I can't click on anything.  Nothing is accessible.

I'm guessing (or hoping) this has something to do with file permissions.

Okay, maybe I need to address one issue at a time.

Does anybody know any reasons that would explain why the member menu bar at the bottom would no longer show up?

I'm going to ask possibly the dumbest thing ever asked: Did you empty the cache/, cache_public/ and tmp/ directories?

Yes, I actually did this after reading another thread related to moving a dolphin site.

Unfortunately  it did not solve these problems.

I knew it. Is it possible that not everything was transferred correctly (or at all)?

Sure it's possible.  The hosting company where I purchased the server did the transfer.  They first tried to do a full cPanel to cPanel move, but couldn't because my site was "too big".

So they used a skiphomedir backup with ssh and rsync to do the transfer.  Even then they ran into some problems.

So I guess I'm the only person who has had any difficulties with moving a dolphin site.

This is happening to me now with a few little issues popping up in various places..

Issues with members having trouble logging in from the main page.

Issues with the Admin Panel, I clicked on features and nothing happened: (this was fixed by cleaning the cache it seems)

Member Menu Bar vanished from various pages..

Radio buttons and check boxes in search areas and other places now no longer work.

Accepting Friends no longer work.

How frustrating! :(

As to your issues, it sounds like you have just uploaded the site and not even bothered to configure the server, does it have for example xls enabled and all the other stuff that is none standard setup that dolphin needs?
