Is this a hacking attempt?

I was watching the Google Analytics in real time today and suddenly I kept seeing entrance urls like this:

index.php/1000010A/somenumbers...

What does this mean? I searched on google and saw some sites having those type urls in google's cache.

Thanks.

Perhaps not.

Spammers quite often have bots running search for specific types of websites and the bot checks for a 404 type response.

For example, when spammers are looking for wordpress sites they may scour the web for urls that answer to a link that has wpadmin in the url.

Wordpress specific urls show up in my apache logs all the time. And i never ran a wordpress site on my domain.

I think it's just a form of spammer web spider.
