Is this a Bug? - Video View for non-members: checked => Access Denied

The Video View for non-members is checked ('on').  However, when a Guest tries to view the video, they receive the Access Denied error message.

Is this a bug or just something wrong with my system?  I recently upgraded from 7.0.2 to 7.0.5. I have very few mods. As far as I can tell, those I've added do not deal with videos.

Any help would be much appreciated...

seems you have some setting out of adjustment.

i just checked on a fresh Dolphin 7.0.5, videos are viewable from non-members, made no settings adjustments prior to this test. i went to admin --> settings --> membership levels --> non-members and disabled view videos,

logged out of admin, video thumbs are viewable, but when i clicked to play the video, i get Access if Forbidden, which is a different message than what you have.

then i went back into admin panel and enabled video view for non-member, but then on page builder, opened the page from admin --> builders --> pages builders --> view video --> view video block,

i unticked Guest.

now this does not give me any type of message but a non-member (also referred to as guest) is not able to view the video, but can see the description of the video and the thumb.

the message you are seeing could be some remnant from the upgrade, because i am not seeing the infamous "Access Denied" message

That should be because of member level actions as pointed by DosDawg.

Were you been able to sort this out?

You are correct, the error message was Access is Forbidden.  I had changed it to 'Please log in to view the video' to temporarily deal with the issue and forgot what the original error message was.  Sorry about that.

I originally tried to get this to work through the Admin --> Membership Settings menu. I disabled and then enabled multiple times, cleared cache, logged in and out as admin - nothing worked.

I guess I'll try re-installing the video mod for 7.0.5. Can you see any reason not to do that?
