Are there any reported problems with Dolphin and IE 11? I have had two members report to me that they are having problems with the Profile Comments and both are using IE 11. I am not seeing any issue with IE 9; the version of IE that I have installed. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Why don't you install IE 11 and see for yourself? My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
By the end of this year, IE will be a statistically irrelevant browser. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
@HL, yes, I might have to do that.
I think MicroCrap is coming out with some IE lite something or the other; saw a blurb on a site about it but was not interested enough to read it.

The problem with IE is that it is difficult to install more than one version; it is possible but not easily done; due to MicroCrap putting the browser into the OS. Geeks, making the world a better place |
GG have you tried a "user agent switcher" Vunderba..... Challenge Yourself to be the Best...... Hosting from Zarconia.net |
Have many members that are using IE reporting that they are having trouble with the profile comments when they try to cut and paste and such. Evidently there is an issue with IE javascript library implementation. I guess I will be forced to upgrade IE to version 11 so I can try to track this down.
What steps can I take to try and track down the issue with IE? I am now up to Dolphin 7.1.4 on the site.

I might try playing around with the security level in IE, maybe that is blocking some of our javascript. Geeks, making the world a better place |
GG have you tried a "user agent switcher"
How would that help at the browser end of things?

It wouldn't. I'm not sure he understands your problem.

Are there tools in IE such as a javascript console?

I was able to get the issue to appear on IE 9 by putting the security setting on High; the editor in profile comments did not load and the reply link for comments stopped working. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Well well, it appears that MicroCrap won't let a user trust a site unless the site is using https; why in hell does anyone use MicroCrap's browser? Geeks, making the world a better place |
Spoke too soon, works in regular comments but the editor is not loading in the profile comments. Geeks, making the world a better place |
I go to my admin using IE9, click on modules, flash apps and it won't load the flash apps. Who are the IE users on here that can help me understand IE? Geeks, making the world a better place |

When I saw the issue of not loading in the flash apps in the admin, that lead me to the video comments that I had recently enabled. Disabling the video comments returned TinyMCE to loading in the Profile Comments.

You might have a look at Fire IE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/fire-ie/
It embeds the IE rendering engine in Firefox, but you'd still have to install IE 11 on your machine.

I might see if Lunascape is still in development; it was using the IE rendering engine.
IE was always a crap browser and I guess it hasn't changed; no problem in FireFox and Chrome so screw IE.
