Installing RMS

I have yet to install RMS.  I have read the instructions and done some searches of Boonex to try and find possible pitfalls.  That is the point of this post, asking for advice and pitfalls that I need to be aware of.  I see posts from Newton and DosDawg on RMS; so maybe they have some areas I need to be aware of.  I don't like jumping in and making changes to the server without doing my homework.

GG, not to brag, it takes me all of thirty minutes to install RMS.

I will help in anyway if you need it, but, I think you should just jump right in first then ask us after the fact.

No doubt you will get it the first time, just look over our past post which I'm sure you have.

The most tedious part was actually just annoying, changes the flash folders IP settings one by one.

I can do it in 10. Tongue Out

RMS is easy to install. For the Java step, I recommend installing the distro's JDK - the JRE line in red5.sh doesn't need to be touched in that case. Other than that, follow the instructions, and it should be a smooth ride. Please let us know if you run into any issues during the install. I can also do the install, but then you don't learn anything. Wink

Seems like there use to be some sort of television game show where the contestants stated something along this line; I can do it in 10 LOL and if they couldn't they lost points or something.

GG, if you use the same server setup each time for clients, I just copy the RMS folder where I set it up in /opt, to each new server only making minor changes like the access.dat file which stores each URL of the allowed sites to use it.

My hosting provided me with RMS but i don't have a clue how the flash apps look like :/ Is the video player  same as html5 player ? or is it a fancy flash player with suggestion of other videos in it ?

i edited the details in flash app setting but i don't know whether it works or not. Do i have to remove html5 player to see the rayz flash player ?

RMS is only for video chat and video commenting.

Yes and no, this does not use RMS.

In the flash video module setting, un ticking the H264 will make the older flash player play files, something you don't want if you have the HTML5 module installed, H264 is on in default sites setups.
