This is not a question but a suggestion.
I've installed Dolphin on a new server and in the process I got a white page after "configuration" step. The problem was that the MySQL daemon server wasn't running but I felt in panic for a moment (I didn't install the server).
I think the installation script should show an error screen if it can't connect with the MySQL server as PHPMyAdmin does. It will help a lot.
