Identifying PHP bits for the top menu

I'm have difficulty locating the PHP code that control various functions in Dolphin.

I want to move the menu to the top of the page and the logo area down in the UNI template. I have successfully moved bits of PHP around within the HTML framework in Wordpress and Joomla and had good results by trial and error although I dont understand any PHP. Dolphin has me completely stumped as it appears to work completely differently.  I have heard that Dolphin has somehow inherited some unusual type of PHP protocols or style or something?? No idea where I heard that.... howse that for a vague statement!

Can someone explain the very basics of PHP & how it works with dolphin so I may perform this basic sort of rearranging with the menu?

cheers

dolphin is extremely complex, and there is no 1.2 3. answer for what you are asking. basically you have to push the logo area down from within the style sheets, and in conjunction, you have to move the menu area up. this would be controlled by the css elements padding and margins. use firefox to trace these elements based on each area you are looking to modify.

top_menu.css

general.css

common.css

_header.html

_sub_header.html

these are the files you want to look into. just play with css in firebug as suggested above by DOS
