IP Black listed everyone including myself?

With all the spamming go on i tried to block the people who are hacking Boonex and I somehow block myself out. What is the best way to get back in and fix this. I can't believe I did this.

Where have you done it?

If you did it in the server, ask your hosting company to unblock you.

If you did it in Admin Panel, use another IP or a proxy to unblock yourself the reverse way you did it in the first place.

Why did you go blocking IP's? Most are dynamic and most hackers use proxys...you'be better either "block" or "allow only" countries using ISO alpha 2 on your server.

I just tried two other machines in two different places and no dice. I did block from admin panel. Is there any other way to get back to admin panel?

HELP>>>GD

If you blocked your self from the admin panel and now are not able to "get" to the site, the only option I think for you would be a database edit on "sys_options" and or the ban Ip database and manually change the settings you applied. If your not sure how to do this PM me and I will help you.

[edit] no all caps please.. your post was only five minutes from the prior.

Ask someone you trust to change it for you (by giving your username and password). or do it with a Cellphone or go to bestbuy (or any other computer store) and do it there LOL ;)

Ive managed to do the same, although not sure now... I carefully looked at the IP of each new signup, ran it through an ip address locator, and once I determined it was from china/asia I went ahead and entered it in the IP ban page from IP address TO IP address (entering the same IP in both fields....  Managed to doa half dozen like this, then it said that it had banned my IP... so what gives when Ive been careful and this has happenbed...

Ive loked at all 400+ rows in sys_options in the database, and have searched for any field with the word IP in the name but Im not swure which to edit -can anyone help?

The table is sys_ip_list

Depending on which version of dolphin you are running this might be due to a bug becuse of differences between 32 and 64 bit servers.

However, you will need to remove some of the last entries made to that table.

You should also look is sys_options for the name sys_dnsbl_enable and clear the value set there which will turn off the DNS block lists incase your ip range ended up on one of those lists.

After doing this, manually clear the cache folder. The cache has to be cleared for any manual database changes to take effect. And because you can't get into admin, it will have to be done by hand.

Thanks for that

There is nothing in my sys_ip_list and the dnsbl has been disabled. Still can't get in.

I also cannot find the entry in my database where I can just reverse the issue.

Never mind. I can always tell when I've drank too many energy drinks.

I am RACKING MY BRAIN trying to figure out why I couldn't find the tables I needed, then an HOUR after I started, i realized I was working in the OLD database for the site.

Got into the right database, opened the sys_ip_list and there they were. Snip, snip and i was back in.

Un freakin believable. At least I posted my fix unlike just about everyone else dealing with this problem.

I'm in this mess too.
I have some how manage to lock myself out entirely.

I have access to MyPHPAdmin and I have been in to sys_ip_list but from there I'm lost.
No idea what I am looking for to *SNIP* out, or what - if any - values to replace.

Imagine you are talking to a semi-not very bright-child who is out of his element,...but thank you in advance if any one can assist me on getting back on track. That would be swell!

I think I'm just going to reinstall and AVOID making this mistake again. However, it sure would be nice if anyone has the time to give a detailed answer to my question for the next guy who does this, ya know? I'm sure it'll happen again! ( Probably to me - lighting does indeed strike twice with my luck )

I have an idea of where I messed up, when setting values to prevent spammers - would be nice if it gave you some kind of warning when you changed vital stuff like that. Anyone know where I can submit that suggestion? I may have over looked it in Trac

Side note, and if you all prefer I can start a new topic on this, but since this mistake largely happens when trying to keep the spammers out - anyone know of a mode, or tweak where you can just ban various countries? In my case my site will be regional in nature so I there is no real reason anyone out side of Colorado for that matter would need to use the site. I use a pluggin on wordpress that allows me to just ban countries, would be cool if there was a mod for that for dolphin. Just thinking out loud.
