I just split join form into 3. added math question

I just split join form into 3 and added a math question. Is there anything new that I should do to block spammers?

I use Denre's Bot Stop, since install... not ONE single bot or human spammer..

This is a must have, Deanos has performed well for some of my clients so they are two very good ones.

I cannot totally vouch for Deanos as I do not own.

I found that the bots were getting around the "human" questions and split join forms..

Ok I just bought it thanks. Does Deanos anti-spam work with the automatic bot stopper? Should I install both?

What do I put in the spam sentences? I have no idea.

The BotStopper works independently from other modules and besides extra CPU power to process the input I do not see any reason why these two modules could not run next to eachother.

Never the less, I believe the BotStopper works very well and if new spam signups do get through, I analyse that data to come up with new defences.

For spam sentences you can use words or sentences your site gets hit with by spambots. This is an extra check when everything else about the input seems to be legitimate.

alright cool. So I just bought denre bot stopper as well as deanos anti spam. Split the join form into 3 and added a human math question. I hope this stops the spam so I can market in other countries. I got 2,551 unique visits from taiwan when I marketed my site there and over half of them clicked on my publisher ads.Cool

Like I said; if you do get spam, please let me know so I can investigate.

Fighting spam is a constant battle whereby spammers try new techniques all the time. I analyse the characteristics of the spam bot and try to write checks that detect that, so any help with that is usefull.

He is still getting a ton of it.

I have traced the source to facebook connect signups. My filters can't block signups via facebook connect. A new feature to add to my module for the next update if i can find a way to do it without having to modify facebook connect.

I had a look at the FB connect module from Boonex and noticed that a very important check (verified) is missing from the module. I believe not  verified accounts should be blocked or at least website owners should have the option to specify if they allow non (FB) verified accounts to register this way.

Besides that, the module only sends out an alert after registering and by that time the signup is completed. This doesn't mean nothing can be done but it does make it a lot harder.

Yes it does.

But he is using my FB connect. Not the boonex one. But mine also does not send an alert until join is complete. All of my connect modules are the same way. So i will be working on some redesigns for my modules.
