I have a login profile slow down

I dont have a clue at why but profile number 10 on my site if it logs into the site is shut things down to a snail and will increase the load and lock the sql tables.  Has this happened to anyone else and if so how can i correct it.

Strange...we do have similar problems, not with a specific user ID number but when it reaches a certain number of logged in users...still to find an answer for that too...

I have that issue as well.   Even running the site and the server to the specs provided and not modifying the software it limits our users in usability...  If we get close to 40 users as well as that one account we are doomed to snail pace.  I also have a major issue with logging in it takes almost 1 minute to get in the site no mater the user level

Hi,

you may want to take a look at these previous posts, so here are the links:

It is the best I can help you with rigth now, as we are still to figure this out.

Just a questions, our site is mainly based in Profile Browsing (more than 2.000), Photos (more than 14.000) and IM...and yours?

Regards,

A good thing to post here would be your server settings, i.e. shared, VPS. Memory limits...lots to be asked about your server

Yes, u' re right...

But no matter what, it may help answering the question why his site stalls with 40 online users and ours with 80....in the end, it does not give a final solution to the problem...

But this is just me, fighting a 6 months old mistery....

I run a dedicated server with the settings set per spec just as directed by boonex and i am using memcache server

But my log in time issue i think was corrected by changing the setting on this file

root/templates/base/scripts/BxBaseProfileView.php

I love mysteries but what i end up with most of the time is a headache and growing 30 users a day we are considering clouding or adding a separate disk to run sql

I3 and 6 gigs of memory should be more than enough to run 6k of users Cry

Quote · 1 Feb 2011

Oh well, here it goes:

- we have 250 GB main disc, plus 2 aditional discs, 120 GB for DB and 200 GB for MySQL

- server tweked for ....USD (not even going to add these up, it was well worth spending)

- 12 GB RAM

- moved out stats

- restricted IM to 3 windows per user, max 5 lines showing

- any mod that relates to online members will slow u down, so checked and removed....

- Spy tables and greetings and the works, all cleared periodically...

We are considering clouding also, or litespeed...or...maybe I just go for more coffee...

LOL, coffee may be a fix for the exhaustion but I am not sure we even took out all the modules we were not using and did away with the spy and the world map to slow down processes and we still have snails in our server. We have plenty of diskspace 1 terabyte and adding more memory as proven to do nothing but add and expense that did nothing...   I am though very satisfied that I am not the only one having these issues.  It is also pleasing to know that running all the modules or removing half of them ends up with the same snailability.  I am hoping that the next upgrade will help me see that the wait for speed is not just a myth..

I started using memcache and it has sped things up but not as well as I would have expected.

ok, no proclaimed expert..

Do you have your RMS server combined on the same machine?

are members uploaded videos being processed when the site is busy?

when you run "top" from terminal, what process are using all the resources?
