How to limit the number of videos for member ?

How to limit the number of videos, files and audios for member ?

I want to limit the disk space usage for members. Normally videos take much space.  so I want to either limit the disk space or I want to limit the number of videos and files upload.

Hello you'll can setup limit for audios and video via membership level that located in admin panel

Could you please explain simple steps how to limit ?

1.  Go to admin - settings - Membership Levels.

2. select the  Promotion membership - videos add Number of allowed actions - 1, Number of actions is reset every - 24

Also make the same steps for standard  membership

But i think it will not allow promotional members to add video...

Actually I am keeping only one membership plan that is Stansard plan...

So please tell me how to limit the number of videos... say only 3 videos or 5 videos....

I any one wants to upload more than that it will show limit crossed. Delete old to add new ...

Sasha just explained, but I will make it step by step for you.

1.  Go to admin - settings - Membership Levels

2. In "Levels" select the only membership you say you have, that would be standard

3. In "Actions of standard' select videos add

4. In the pop up box that is opened, in the "Number of allowed actions" put the number or videos you want to allow them to be able to load;

I believe that will do it.

Well francisca_carv, the limit is working fine, initially of music and video i had put the limit to 3 only ..... but later when i increased the limit to 5, it is still showing ACCESS DENIED., whereas it should allow 2 more files to upload.

Also, When i delete 1 file and try add one then also it is showing ACCESS DENIED.

What to do now ?

I've had that happen too and you just have to wait until the 24 hours clears.  Clearing cache, etc. doesn't seem to clear it up.  If you want to ONLY allow a user to upload 3 videos period then increase the hours to like 8760 (1 year).  I guess that would work.  Otherwise they can upload a 3 new videos every 24 hour period.

yes, I know that problem.

We have a restriction for our standard members, but on photos only, they are only allowed to upload 10. But if they have 10 and then want to add new ones and delete some of the old to keep within the 10 limit, because we have no period for cleaning the authorizations, they have to wait from 24 to 48 hours...meantime, they get that "Access denied" info....

I would also like to know how to avoid that period of time, any ideas?

I changed the "Access Denied" verbage to "You have reached your dailiy limit or you need to upgrade your membership."  It's a little softer than the "iron clink" and it lets them know why they have reached this issue.

All I'm looking for now is a way to get the Access Denied page to redirect to the Membership page.

Please anybody expain what does the RESET period exactly means.

I want to set a limit to user uploads, but if they deleted old there should be possibility to upload again within the limits .

I just want to limit the user with the numbers of upload but with delete and again upload flexibility. Just like a limited hard disk space for members.

That is why it is called Actions.  You are limiting their Actions.  If they upload two images that day and their Actions limit is 2 then even if they delete 1 image and upload another that would be a third action which would exceed their limit.

Can you suggest me a perfect setting for my website. I want to limit the users to 5 uploads(as an example) for forever. but if user delete old ones then the next day he/she can upload again to the total of 5 only. (Not everyday 5 uploads, A total of 5 uploads)
