I have done it, and I think I mostly just used html blocks, not the Dolphin ad page.  I have switched to Google Ad Manager though.

Are you asking about setting up an actual openx server, or just inserting ads into your site? Because they are two very different things.

Most of the replies to topics like this (that I have seen) only refer to inserting ads.

Inserting the ads into Dolphin is easy if you have some basic skills that you should have anyway for other site tasks. Setting up the openx server software is also easy if you are ok at following directions as there are lots of guides.

OpenX is very powerful and easy to use, but there is a bit of an initial learning curve to get over.

Hi,

Didn't got much reference but here is the link which can help you to install the openx plugins easily  *spam link removed*. they are guiding you how to installing the plugins, and also having demo videos for all plugins. This will be great help to understand the openx plugins installations.

Nothing there but a site selling spam... err I mean your mods.

Like what?  Your fishing for an answer you like but we don't know what kind of fish you want. So don't be surprised when all you catch is carp.

There have been at least two other post about openX recently. Have you read them?

You never did answer my question.

If you need help placing openx ads into your dolphin site this is the place to get help. If you need help installing and configuring openX this is NOT the best place to get help. There are may sites built around the openX community that have better resources to help you with openX.  This is the place to get help with Dolphin.

I'm not sure why this is such a hard concept for some people to grasp, but you do not install or integrate OpenX in to Dolphin. OpenX is not a mod or plugin or module. It is a self contained ad management system.

Once you have access to an OpenX system by getting an account at http://openx.com/publishers/community-ad-server or setting up your own OpenX instance on your own server you add a website and zones. The zones have an invocation code that you insert into the website (your dolphin site) where you want the ads to appear.

So what do you need help with? Setting up the OpenX software or using the ad zone invocation codes with Dolphin?

I am using OpenX on my Dolphin site, honestly it is kind of a PITA.

It can be as easy as placing an html block on your page with the code, but I found that any time an openx snippet was running on the same page as an RSS feed it would break things. Certain forms wouldn't work either.

I had to resort to using an iframe so I could still show my forums feed in RSS format.

Also, the OpenX admin panel does not work when you have eAccelerator running.

sh, that is odd, as you can see on my example, the forum though not orca is feeding latest posts to the index of the site, and the ads are running not iframed i do not think

That site has me perplexed now, as I don't see the ugly iframe tags either lol.

I might have to give it a try again, maybe it was something with my syntax. I even skipped an html box and tried the code direct under _sub_header.html etc.

im quite proud of how that site has turned out, and we done some things that were unheard of at that point in dolphin.

dont ask me what i done, way too much other crap has done rolled through my grey matter since then.
