How does Membership payment work

Hi,

I've set up membership levels and setup the payment facility.  But am wandering how the membership levels work when a member signs up.

My testing shows that they sign up as standard and can upgrade once joined, but non of this invokes the monthly subscription fee signup with paypal.

Is someone able to fill me in please?

And how do you manage this on your sites?

First of all, Dolphin's payment module does not support PayPal recurring subscriptions, or recurring payments.  Your members must actively purchase their membership once their current membership period ends.

If there was a module that would fix this problem, it would sell.  Buying Martinboi's module just to get recurring payments is not the route I would prefer to go since his customer service is not the best in the world; and Moderators, this is well documented.

not really any other solution at the moment though, other than the one mentioned by GG. None that Ive found anyway...

why there is no option for recurring payments in the default payments module I dont know....

I think this should be the mandatory feature for a dating system like Dolphin.  Why would you create a dating system without a recurring payment system.

This is disappointing,and I guess something they are not going to fix soon.

so being I'm setting up some customer join pages, I'll go with a paypal subscribe button on them then.

 only thing with this is it wont integrate with your membership settings.

only option  I know that does that is martinboi's subscription management module...

He does have to manually activate your URL to work with the module which is where some have issues.

You can use IgorL's CCBill mod to do recurring membership payments (especially if you are an adult site).
