How do I get into D7 with an FTP?

Can someone explain how to get into my site using an FTP?

Thanks,

Download Filezilla, its free, just google it.  Then, go to cPanel and look up FTP Accounts.  Beside your Main Account should be a button that say Configure FTP Client.  Click that and it will take you to a screen that displays info you will need to enter into Filezilla.

After you have downloaded and installed Filezilla, click on File, the Site Manager.  Click New Site, then enter the info from cPanel.

Ayetti,

I'm really new at this. Are you referring to the cpanel of my site's host or my D7 Admin panel? I don't see FTP Accounts in the D7 panel.

Thanks,

Your sites host cpanal.

However, normaly you can just used the following info for FTP which you can try first.

FTP address. = Your domain name.

FTP logon ID. Normall is the same as yours hosts Cpanal logon.

FTP password also normally the same as the Cpanal logon.

If they don't work, look them up in cpanal or contact your host.

Just talk to your web host, they will give you the ftp info you need. It's really simple to do.

If you're using cPanel, there should be a link on the front page that will bring you to a list of your FTP accounts (you should have one by default). It'll typically be:

Server: ftp.yoursite.com

Username: cPanel login name

Password: cPanel login password

You should check the available list of FTP accounts to be sure. In the event there are no accounts listed, you can make one on the same page. Just follow the directions and you'll be done and presented with the needed connection information.

Edit: Jesus Christ, I pause for two minutes to turn on my radio and Deano beats me. I still think my directions are better, though.
