How can we create account from mobile

Hi guys,

As I mentioned in title, Is there anyway for us to create account(register account) from mobile.

Thanks for your support.

The only way is through the site itself.  For registration from a mobile app, that's something a developer would have to code.

There are some responsive templates, and a WAP module, that should make it easier to register from a small screen.

You would probably want to limit the number of required fields and have it where they can add to the profile later.  Since mobile are limited devices with most without a real keyboard.  Then again, I wonder how many people can touch-type today and enter 80 words a minute.  I guess they are rather good with the two thumbs method.  However, I would hate to write my next novel using the two thumbs method.

Well, if you do "develop" this ability you would make a lot of Dolphins happy...

Spot-on...

I just tested creating a new account from my iphone through our responsive design (HyperNova)....It was pretty smooth-sailing.....

The only thing that I found to be an issue was not being able to use the Avatar Crop tool....But, I was able to add my avatar without crop...

It really wouldn't take much at all (a little CSS) to make join via mobile perfectly painless.

I thought the new version of mobile apps paired with D7.1.4 would allow you to create an account using BoonEx's Facebook Connect module although if anyone is like me, I don't have a FB account nor do I have it enabled on my site.

Like some others, I decided to go with a responsive template instead of having to deal with the mobile apps. At least until there is more 'usability' added to the mobile apps.

and a WAP module

When I installed that for a member, it required the Facebook Connect had to be installed which the client didn't like because they used Deanos connect.

I do, it gives you the option to login in using FB, as long as the account was created on the site side and not the mobile.

For any that wants to test to see if they can create an account via the mobile on my test site the address is...

http://jacksonville.dyndns.tv  The mobile app will present you with the Facebook Login button. I don't  know about creation because I log in with it already.

[edit] Had a friend here at work confirm this by downloading app, then using the link, it will allow you to create an account. BUT, we got an error, and no error code.

Yes, however, you can still install it. The members will not notice it, and any buttons on the home page will still link to mine.

From what i understand the mobile apps have their own FB connect button. I could be wrong. I know i looked into the code on the dolphin side that the mobile app links to, and it's hard wired to the boonex version. The mobile app does not seem to support multiple auth methods, so there is not much of a choice in the matter.

I do plan on adding additional support to my mod to get my version of FB connect to sync with the boonex version to improve account recognition when both versions are installed.

Planned for later. Right now the boonex version really does not appear to be very reliable.

What was stopping us was when trying to install the WAP module, it is looking for the "Boonex" module and not yours.

Oh, sorry. Was not thinking about the WAP module. I must have missed that. Was thinking mobile app for some reason.
