The only way is through the site itself. For registration from a mobile app, that's something a developer would have to code.
There are some responsive templates, and a WAP module, that should make it easier to register from a small screen. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
You would probably want to limit the number of required fields and have it where they can add to the profile later. Since mobile are limited devices with most without a real keyboard. Then again, I wonder how many people can touch-type today and enter 80 words a minute. I guess they are rather good with the two thumbs method. However, I would hate to write my next novel using the two thumbs method. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Thanks for your replys. We finally decide developing this feature by ourself. Tung. |

Spot-on... I just tested creating a new account from my iphone through our responsive design (HyperNova)....It was pretty smooth-sailing..... The only thing that I found to be an issue was not being able to use the Avatar Crop tool....But, I was able to add my avatar without crop... It really wouldn't take much at all (a little CSS) to make join via mobile perfectly painless. |
I thought the new version of mobile apps paired with D7.1.4 would allow you to create an account using BoonEx's Facebook Connect module although if anyone is like me, I don't have a FB account nor do I have it enabled on my site.
Like some others, I decided to go with a responsive template instead of having to deal with the mobile apps. At least until there is more 'usability' added to the mobile apps. Nothing to see here |

When I installed that for a member, it required the Facebook Connect had to be installed which the client didn't like because they used Deanos connect. ManOfTeal.COM a Proud UNA site, six years running strong! |

I do, it gives you the option to login in using FB, as long as the account was created on the site side and not the mobile. I don't know about creation because I log in with it already. [edit] Had a friend here at work confirm this by downloading app, then using the link, it will allow you to create an account. From what i understand the mobile apps have their own FB connect button.
What was stopping us was when trying to install the WAP module, it is looking for the "Boonex" module and not yours. ManOfTeal.COM a Proud UNA site, six years running strong! |
Oh, sorry. Was not thinking about the WAP module. I must have missed that. Was thinking mobile app for some reason. https://www.deanbassett.com |
