How can I remove the big Join-Login from homepage

I'm trying to find where I can remove the Join-Login on the home page the one on top the promo pictures

In version 7.0.2

Ask and you shall recieve. These instructions only cover the join button, but can easilly be adapted to include the login button, too.

Thanks...I've managed to remove the the bottons however the "OVERLAY" is still there...I need to find a way to hide it too

I got the link and added the display: none; to index.css and also cleaned the cache folders. It's still there

OP: Are you using a custom template by chance?
