How can I make group private for only me and a fan

I have created two groups, each has me and one fan. Under View Group there are the following settings: Me Only, Public, Members, Friends. The problem is that the fan from one group can get into the other group. How can I limit access to each group to only me and the fan that is in that group and keep everyone else out?

you can use the actual group settings (when creating the group, or by editing current groups) where group admins can approve members first before your members can join or participate at the group

in group settings you will see 'Join Confirmation'  >>>> just set this to 'Enabled'

When people try and join the group they will go into special block on the group page for members waiting for approval

I tried that but a person that is not a fan of the group can still get into the group if he is a fan of another group. A member of the site cannot get into either group if he is not a friend but as soon as I send him a friend request and he accepts he can then get into both groups even though he is not a fan. I need to keep the fans of one group out of the other group.

This should not be the case.  I have groups on my site so I see if I can find time to test this.

I'm sure it's a setting but I have been all over it and cannot find anything. I would think it would be in Privacy Settings>view Group but the only options are Me Only, Visitors, Members, Friends.

I am using Dolphin 7.1.4

I am not at 7.1.4.  On my version, 7.1.x; a fan can only see the groups they belong to, private groups they do not belong to they can not see, they get the privacy message, or denied message; can not remember exactly.  I would check to make sure the group privacy is not set to public; public groups can be seen by anyone, not just a member that is a fan of a group.

Unfortunately what you require cannot be accomplished with the default groups module. You will need a third party module such Premium Groups mod to get this functionality where you can limit access to fans only.
