How Impressions work with Banners

I have placed banners on my site. After visiting the page, i visited the banners page in the admin. Here I got the shocking stats, like it shows so many impressions for that banner and no clicks. I would like to know how it calculates the impressions on banners. Can I trust on these impression stats...?

Can I trust on these impression stats...?

 NO, not at all.

The banner activity is very misleading.

I visited the link, there I saw people had a discussion openX, I tried to get the information about it. I found it at "http://www.openx.com/", let me know if I am on the wrong path. Here I am not getting how can I use it with dolphin for my site.

Here I am not getting how can I use it with dolphin for my site.

You have to think outside Dolphin.

Just because there is a banner system does not mean you have to use it.

I use many banners from one company and track clicks via there affiliates page.

The built in banner system works, but not reliable on the true click counts or impressions.

I like using HTML blocks for my banners just because I can place them anywhere on the site.

If your good at editing files, you can hard-code some of the banners yourself, i.e. the header and footer are easy to add a banner to.

Modzzz also has a site injection module that makes it easier for non techs to be able to do such things as inserting banners on many different areas of the page.  If you are uncertain about editing code, take a look at Modzzz's module.

Even I have placed so many ads using HTML Blocks on different-different pages. But How can I track the impressions or clicks for these ads...?
