Homepage meta-description

Hi

I added some content when i first done this page. Now i have decided to change the description but it wont change it stays how it was the first time. Any help would be appreciated thank you :)

 settings->Advanced Settings->General. It will show me the new text but wont stay when i advertise the site?

Make sure you have cleared your cache and see the new content when you view the sites source.

If your attempting to instantly update listings currently with Google for example, then that won't happen. Google will change it when they re-crawl your site. You can't force changes on the search engines.

when i advertise the site www.......com  on fb lets say it come. up with site name and description that was on the meta tag description before i changed it to the new wording i wanted .

Sample www.love.com (Not real site name) where all people who come to find love.. (old wording)

when ive added new wording in meta tags description thru setting admin it still shows old wording when i post link.

Hope this helps im not sure how else to explain it.

FB caches it as well. As long as you cleared your sites cache and verified the new working shows up when your view the source of your site then FB will see the new one after it is shared a couple of times.

Also check with the FB linter tool. It will show you what facebook sees. https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
