Homepage meta-description and keywords

In Homepage meta-description and Homepage meta-keywords I have 10 tags. It's too much or too little? I wish my site properly indexed in search engines. Tags description and keywords are the same. Please advice

meta stuff is a waste of time.

You will be indexed fine without.

meta key words are not so important these days for google seo.

Page title, page meta description, page content and proper use of htags is important.

For the home page you go to settings->Advanced Settings->General.

For the rest of the pages, you don't. Not without modifying dolphin, or use the Head Injections module available in the market. http://www.boonex.com/m/Head_Injections

Thank you. How many tags separated by commas is acceptable standard? (Homepage meta-description and Homepage meta-keywords) Now I have 10 but some tags are made up of two words

Title ideal length between 65-69 characters.

Description about 155 characters.

Keywords is now ignored by most all search engines. It no longer matters what you put in there. It has no effect. Search engines now use the pages content rather than the keywords meta tag. Most everyone has told you this. Read the responses above. Try a Google search for meta keywords. It is well known, and well documented. Your just wasting your time setting up keywords.

Thanks for advice. I fixed lenght of characters beacuse I had too much.

More and more often I hear that search engines ignore meta keywords and SEO is a waste of time. In that case, what now direct the search engines? How to properly optimize website for the search engines (especially Google)?

Of course I know about the sitemap.xml and robots.txt

Thank you. I know this site and I try to follow the directions. My site is not a niche, so it is harder for me.
