Hiding all members in a certain membership level

How easy or difficult would it be to do this?  They cannot appear anywhere - not in the member stats, search, browse etc.

Ignore - no longer required.

Well I have been waiting since March 23rd for this to be done on my site and am tired of being ignored.  Once in a while the guy throws me a bone, lucky me.  If anyone thinks that they can do this for us please let me know and I will hire you.  The task is to hide members that I place in a "parent" membership level who create sub-profiles via modzzz Sub-Profile module.  The sub-profiles are placed in their own membership level.

When you request a job, it is important to be very specific in what you wish to accomplish.  When you say hide members, exactly where; just viewing the profile?  Not showing up in search results?  What areas of Dolphin should they not be visible, everywhere?  Photos? Videos?

Their membership level does not allow for uploading photos or videos.  The goal is to hide them from the site completely.

Sounds like more work than the usual quick hack someone can post in the forum. You may want to post this here: http://www.boonex.com/jobs/

or at the BoonEx oDesk group. This thread will likely be lost under all the others and may not be seen by the right people.

Are you wanting interface controls or can it just be hard coded into the core?  If interfaces, what should they be?  You will need to keep records of the changes so that you can upgrade later.

I agree, it is not a quick hack.  I didn't really mean to post it as a job here, this thread started out as "can this actually be done?"

GG a core hack is all I need and you are right, a clear record is very important for upgrades and also potential future code conflicts.

Anyway, the developer has now replied :)  I don't know what else to say, I have to trust him once more I suppose.

I hope the developer works our for you.  You did not mention anything about payments you have made.  We have said this before but never pay in full up front, if a developer asks that, especially if they are in a different country than you because trying to recover across country boundaries just adds to the difficulty, then say no.  Spilt the job into parts, paying only when that part is completed.  You may even want to use an escrow if the amount is large.

I have worked with using membership levels outside of the regular Dolphin use.  Memberships have a numerical id as well as a name; either one can be used but if you go with the name and you always name the membership "Parent", then you don't have to worry about the number being different; as in changing things around, moving the site and deciding to not use a particular membership level, etc.

This guy must be from middle east who is operating a secret operation, that's why all the recruits must be placed in a container where they cannot be seen.

be aware

My first LOL of the day, thank you very much!  It is a top-secret project and we are going to try to take over the world!  If you are as old as I am you will remember "The Brain."

Anywho I am from Canada and the site is a school site for students - no parents allowed, but they have to be the ones to create the account for their child.  So, the "Parent" membership level is exactly that, Parents!!

GG I have paid but in my opinion it was not enough for this type of coding anyway, so I'm not concerned.  I have sent you a PM, please check your messages.
