Havest Media / Martinboi Lack of Support ?

This company Martinboi ] used to be called [ Harvest Media ] and has been offering [ LIVE JOIN ] Mod which is used to connect Dolphin users to Twitter, FB, gmail etc.. Doesn't seem to support its products anymore & wondering why they are still considered among other Vendors at Boonex if they don't commit to keeping their products current with Dolphin Software ?

I purchased 3 licenses from them about a year ago, and to my surprise, I see on their Boonex page at:  http://www.boonex.com/m/RPX_Integration_Login_for_D7
that they do not support this Mod with 7.1 ??

I even created a case thru their site  (case#202) but they ignored my request..

I was wondering if anyone is using [Live Join] and whether you have any issues connecting to facebook with this mod..

I am not sure why Boonex is allowing this type of service to happen as to why would a vendor sell a product and not commit to keeping it current with the current D7.1 by providing patches, updates etc..

I was wondering if anybody else is having similar issues with this company and what we need to do to resolve these issues ??

Thank you.

You are correct in saying that a vendor can just shutdown shop and walk away from his products here. Unfortunately not much you can do. My suggestion is either put in a job request to modify his program since he has abandon it or uninstall his module and install a current version offered in the market. If you just made the purchase then you can, after making attempts for a refund, dispute it with Paypal or your cc company.

There are still dolphin sites that may need that product that have not upgraded. That is why the product should stay. There should be some sort of disclosure when upgrading. I sent a email that all developers should have a copy of the final cut of a new release at least one week ahead of time to test their modules and if they do not confirm that their module will work with the new version, then there should be a disclosure list that these modules are not compatible with the new version at this time. At least then you understand that these modules may not be upgraded. Any non upgraded modules on market should not be available for purchase, and put into a separate category called inactive. Members that have already purchased the mod still should have access through their profile purchases page. Inactive mods should not be available through search and only available to members who have previously purchased.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
