HTML image instead of flash - Alignment to Menu

.

Searched high and low in the 6.1 forum but couldn't find the answers. Guess I'm the only one who wants to try something like this?

.

Anyway, here the problem:

.

Take a look at this screenshot here (have it in another post too)...

I need to figure out a way to insert HTML, which I'm assuming can be done right from within the admin section since there's a spot to disable the flash images while generating HTML there (instead).

However, I want to be able to align an image directly up to the menu buttons with no more than a 1 or 2 px border between the image itself and the menu buttons. 0 px would be fine too, I can work with that. The same image should go clear across the page, the entire width of the menu, with a border or 0 to 1 px at most, from the right & left edge of my image to the edge of the screen where the background image becomes visible.

.

Yes, I realize that the blocks below the image won't align up properly, but that's okay because for what I have in mind, involving some of my own transparency and image design work, that'll be perfectly fine ... as long as I have a fairly large bottom border, say apx. 16 or 18 px. between the bottom of my image and the top of the first blocks.

.

Any ideas or thoughts on this? I have no problem messing with php files if someone points me in the right direction (file names/locations) and I'm pretty good at designing (here's my primary domain) and color coordination. But I'm thinking that "only a dolphin whiz" can help me with this post here? Up to the challenge .... ???

Thanks.

You can add the image in your admin like you said and play with the html there.  You would then have to go into the general.css for the rest I believe.  The border around the image block is there.  You would have to start with that.  I don't have all the answers but I can start you in the right direction.

Thanks!

Yeah, it was just a matter of testing the waters ... and that worked out fine.

I may have to start another topic for the borders though, not the visible grey border, but the padding between the image and the grey border, since the image can obviously only fit into that area full size if the padding is removed completely ... or at least on the left, right, and at the top.
