HTML cache is caching what?

What is the HTML cache caching?  Does it cache page templates; such as page_81.html?

See, I added the __page_main_css__ to the page_81.html template; along with the necessary bits to the member.php script so that a member's profile customisations get added to the account page.  It worked too, for awhile and then it does not load in the style settings.  If I go to the backend and clear the caches about 10 or more times, the account page styles load back in and stay there a few days until I have to repeat this.  I asked about this in a different topic but never got any answers.

I may be missing some pieces to the profile customisation thingy because the profile page ALWAYS loads in the custom style and I don't see why the member account page would not do the same.  It appears, by clearing the caches, it has something to do with the caches.

I might just see about writing a separate customisation thing for the account page or get Modzz to do it for me.  Members also wanted their blog post view page to match their profile styles.

No, I was serious.  I search but; so what HTML is the HTML cache caching?

Pretty sure it caches the template HTML files. Not sure about what's happening in your first post, though.

It appears to be caching html templates. But i am not sure.

Your asking a question that has never been asked before. No one has ever cared. So boonex is going to have to answer that because i don't think anyone else knows.

My website is a development site anyway to test and work on my modules. There are certain features of dolphin i just don't use. Caching is one of them. I have all caching turned off because it interferes with developing modules.

I turned off the html cache on the test site; if my hack of copying the Profile Custom style sticks, then I will know that is the cause of the account page reverting back to the site style instead of the user style.  However, I was told elsewhere that the cache does not change until you manually clear it out.

See, it is good I am around, I ask those questions that no one else ever asks, keeps us on our toes LOL
