HELP PLEASE!!

Im experincing severe headaches with the sounds coding of the boonex platform!

sound files are uploading correctly FFMPEG is converting them successfully and they are appearing in both the public and the users' albums but the website (even though permissions are correct) is NOT displaying the player on members profiles!

i REALLY need help with this as im starting to loose members from my network!

please please please please somebody help me fix this bain of my life once and for all!

Does the player appear on all other pages where it is suppose to appear?  I assume this is the HTML5 player?  Have you check all browsers you have on your computer to see if it appears?  HTML5 players are rendered by the browser.  Have you tried disabling the HTML5 player to see if the flash player appears?

and this is a brand new account i have just remade for a user and uploaded audio which is showing in the album but is failing to grab the audio from the album and display it on the profile

 When the member uploads are they selecting that this particular sound is set for "Profile music?"

When the mp3/sound is uploaded the categories setting you must select "Profile music", other wise it just goes to sounds.

I confirmed this on one of my sites...

i created several categories for their audio commercial/IVR/Imaging/On-hold etc

i thought these were just tag categories ??

i will try recategorising some of the audio to see what happens 

 No matter, they must select that to put the audio on their profile page.

There may be a way to change the language, not sure, looking now.

Profile sounds are like the profile photos; it is an album set just for the profile.  So when you upload the sounds to display in your profile, you select the profile sounds album for the upload.  If there are no files in the profile sounds album, then the block will not be displayed on the profile.  So it is likely that the profile sounds album was not selected during the upload.

Maybe, I got a little bit confused over the categories.  You have the album, and then you can select categories for the file itself.  Also, the privacy settings for the album will matter as well.  If it is set to me only, then it will not show up for anyone other than the owner of the album, thus for everyone to see it, not only just friends of the profile owner, it needs to be set to public.  So there are a couple of things going on; choose the correct album and make sure it is set to public viewing.

Newton, I know you don't care for me over a misunderstanding that occurred months ago.  I apologised several times but evidently apologies means nothing.  I have nothing against you personally.  I noticed that you never respond to any messages so evidently you are holding some type of grudge.  I will apologise again even though I know that means nothing.  The best to you.

I went and investigated the categories thing and it is not affecting the display of the sound in the profile if it is not set to "Profile Sounds"; ON MY SITE; I am less than 7.1.3 but greater than 7.1.0.  I have a member that has a sound file in his profile sounds album set to "Pop" and it is showing up on the profile.  Maybe they changed it in 7.1.3, I don't know.

So you see my headache then?

i have 7.1.1 and i am becoming inundated with support tickets and chats with reference to that repetitive issue.

i submitted a ticket to boonex regarding it but have heard nothing at all and don't want to annoy everyone in the forums who have helpe me in the past with repetition but its getting a little beyond a joke Now . :(

So you checked that the profile sounds album contained sound files and that the album privacy was set to public for those profiles where the profile sounds block is not showing?

Even when you log in as the user that holds the account, you don't see the profile sound block?  There is a privacy settings for the blocks using the yellow keys.  I would make sure that the block privacy had not been in some way set through that.

The only other thing would be that the php block code that retrieves the sound files has a problem.  As you know, php blocks only show up when there is content.  So if for some reason the code is not retrieving the files, then the block would be empty, and thus empty not displayed.  Now this is only happening for some profiles, so it would appear that it is tied to something about the profiles it is occurring on, perhaps the database is not linking the profile sounds properly to the owner.  I have not examined the code for this.

I would go to Alex-T's profile and send him a message; linking to the discussions on the forum you have made and see if he can shed some light on this problem.

I have contacted Alex-T and i also submitted a ticket over a week ago as well as posting several posts regarding similarities in the html5 player without any fixes for the issue or response from boonex!!!

  i have had it out with newt before.. years ago but it is cause i come off as an ***hole at times, but he is a good guy and my sites would not be where they are today with out the dude, he is always there to lend a hand when i am stuck... so saying "evidently apologies means nothing" about him is way out of line, this guy has went out of his way to help MANY people here for free! ... gg to be honest it is cause you come of abrasive to alot of people here.. you have to remember alot of folks here been around for years.. heck im still a "noob" and i first joined around here in 2009
