Global Blocks VS Restricted Blocks!

Deanos block tools has a copy block feature!  Can someone tell me why some of those blocks are restricted or red vs green?  The universality of blocks makes Dolphin really unique IMHO!  Let's say I want to put a coupon block anywhere throughout the site it seems like that should be easy to do?  Do these red blocks have dependent strings on that page or something?  Is it module developer decisions to do that? Just curious... When blocks are universal they are more than cool...

My tools can only copy blocks of type PHP, RSS and HTML. Actually it can copy all of them. The problem is not all of them will work when placed on other pages. So these blocks are not universal as you put it. So the blocks of the copyable type are green and the others are red. But just because a block is green does not guarantee it can be copied. It depends on how the block was written and if it was made universal as you call it.

The reason is the blocks are designed specifically for the page they are on. It is impossible for my tool to copy the special block because the block requires support of additional code and/or variables and content that only exists on the page it was written to be on thus will not work when put on a separate page.

If all blocks could be copied like that, then they would be available in the page builders for every page. but they are not for that reason.
