Getting rid of search in the top menu

Hi their, I know how to change the top menu options from guest to members but why is it  not possible to get  rid of that stupid search option in the latest re-incarnation of Dolphin? And before everyone says its a lovely menu why do I want to not show it, I only want it to be seen by my members!!!

PS I've tried the other methods suggested in the forums but none of them work!!!

Open the : templates\base\scripts\BxBaseMenu.php

find this string :     function genSearchElement() {

and this code after that :

if(  !isLogged()  ) {

return;

}
