Getting Weird L brackets in Forum

Can anyone please look at this link and tell me why Im getting L brackets around everything.

When you first install the forums module, or upgrade your site, you must recompile its languages. You can do this by navigating to Forum > Manage Forum and clicking the recompile language link.

I recompiled everything still no luck any further ideas?
