Forum Topics Not displaying

Hello

When i create a new topic under a forum it all works fine, then when it publishes the topic it only displays the Topic title but not the actual topic info itself?

has anyone had experience with this issue?

That is curious.  What do you see when you look in the database?  Is the topic there?  If the answer is yes, then it is a retrieval problem.  If not, then it is a storage problem.

well it appears on the RSS so im presuming its a retrieval problem on the forum.

dont know if this is a bug in the new 7.1 or not?

Is it just happening with newly created posts or older posts as well?

i noticed whether I am logged in or not - there is a lock next to the Forum Title. I dont have forums so dont know if this is supposed to be there. Is the forum set to be visible by only certain members?

EDIT: Scratch last statement, cant even see my own posts. After creating a new test topic, the edit link is not working either.

Prof it sounds like your experiencing the same issues.

just a curious thought - as you have a nice custom template. Is it possible you made some template changes that affect the forums? If you switch back to the uni template do you still get the same issue. Just as a test.

Yes unfortunately on the UNI template it is also apparent,

take a look for yourself :) deffinitley think this is a module bug.

ok using the element inspector, what i see is this:

"Wow, What a busy time we have been having here at the VAU Networks! We have been working allot on fixing the issues that we brought to our attention, and we are VERY happy to announce that ( Albeit we no longer have Hair!) these issues have now been resolved and you can continue to enjoy the VAU Network and online modules as per normal!"

Is this how your Post starts out?

under your new template - using the element inspector i can see that the text is there - it is just not displaying. I notice in the layout folder of the forums module folder, there are 2 sets of template folders for each set - you have the base and base_en, and uni and uni_en. do you have the same structure for your custom template?

I have just checked and there is the same structure with the custom template.

:S  *Confused Much?*

What I see is the following style:

.bx-def-padding-sec-top {
    ...
    display: none;
}

It is wrong to apply display:none; style to this default class

oh dear , i wonder if that is the problem?

I was advised to put this to by a developer to hide all the sub menus for each page as they looked messy.

i will remove that and see if it comes back, if it does then this is a new query of hiding the sub menu  lol

you are correct AlexT thanks so much!

i was told by the template developer to enter that to hide the second top menu, however now that its gone the forum has been fixed this leaves me now with the issue of how to hide this second menu?
