I have had an issue with the Forums compiling.
I can load any template, and only when I go to /forum/ do I get an error :
Warning: DOMDocument::load() [domdocument.load]: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/home/amorenet/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/layout/skin002_en/xsl/recent_topics_main.xsl" in /home/server/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 84
Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: compilation error in /home/server/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 87
Warning: XSLTProcessor::importStylesheet() [xsltprocessor.importstylesheet]: xsltParseStylesheetProcess : empty stylesheet in /home/server/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 87
Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml() [xsltprocessor.transformtoxml]: No stylesheet associated to this object in /home/server/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en/BxXslTransform.php on line 88
So when I go to forum Index, all works well, and all other parts of the forum. If I go to FORUMS... MANAGE FORUMS.... and select "compile language", I get a popup message saying the "Language Files Compilation Have Failed. Please Check Folders Permissions."
I have checked using HOST TOOLS under admin, and all is correct. Any suggestions?
I have checked on 2 different sites, and 2 different versions of Dolphin (7.0.2 and 7.0.3)
Using the UNI template.......
I have checked other templates.....
All of the Simple Moon variations, Simple Blue, etc....
So what are the permissons that should be in place in the modules/boonex/forum/layout/ ????

the problem is your template. it is not compatible, you need to add the missing files to the template that you are trying to use. the one its complaining about missing. When a GIG is not enough --> Terabyte Dolphin Technical Support - Server Management and Support |
If that was the problem, then the UNI template out of the box for a full install of 7.0.2 is not compatible either.
So I have site #1 which is 7.0.3 and you cannot use UNI template and go to Manage Forums, and click on Compile Lang:EN without getting the mssage about "Language Files Compilation Have Failed. Please Check Folders Permissions."
I have site #2 which is 7.0.2 and when you set the default template as UNI, and go to Forums Home... and then click on Compile Language, you get the same message above : "Language Files Compilation Have Failed. Please Check Folders Permissions."
Obviously there is a permissions issue and I have checked everything.. but there is NO DOCUMENTATION on what permissions are to be set for Templates.

on the 7.0.2 forum lang compile, if you get the message that the lang compile failed refresh your page, and if the [L ] leave then the language compiled. but you are talking about two different things here, you are talking about compiling the langs on 7.0.2 and why you have certain errors on 7.0.3
If that was the problem, then the UNI template out of the box for a full install of 7.0.2 is not compatible either.

what you have listed here that is showing you the errors, is the custom skin, which is in fact missing necessary components. when you compile or attempt to compile with the UNI template, even though the message comes up, does the forum in fact compile? the other thing you can try on the 7.0.3 would be to compile from Language Settings.

No none of the forums compile. I have one site on 7.0.2 which work fine.... but 2 others which are on 7.0.2 and have the same files and same permissions come up with the failure message with a permissions issue.
Now the 7.0.3 will not compile on any template. Even deleted all templates except for UNI and base... and still nothing....

in the modules directory there is an en directory on the following path
/modules/boonex/forum/classes/en
rename the en directory on the 7.0.2 then then remove the uni_en from the following path (you can rename it if you dont want to remove it)
/modules/boonex/forum/layout
the error you have posted is stating that there are missing files from the template you are trying to use.
on hte skin002_en look in the xsl directory and see if there is an instance of recent_topics_main.xsl
that is one of the files that gets replaced when you update from .2 --> .3

I have a rather drastic procedure you can try here at the end of this topic.
http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Compiling-orca-forum.htm
But first try this.
Switch to the default template UNI in admin.
Remove all folders from modules/boonex/forum/layout that end with a _en
Also remove these 2 folders if they exist.
modules/boonex/forum/classes/en modules/boonex/forum/js/en
Then verify the following folders in modules/boonex/forum/ are writable. (Mode 777)
classes conf layout log js cachejs
Then try compiling again.
https://www.deanbassett.com |
Ok, here is what I got:
1) Removed all folders in LAYOUTS/ with the _en including base_en.
2) opened the 7.0.2 folder and copied all the files with overwrite on the LAYOUT folder.
3) Reset permissions for CACHE, CACHEJS, CONF, JS, LAYOUT, LOG to 777
4) Deleted all folders which indicated a different OWNER/GROUP and re-uploaded via FTP
5) set default template to UNI in admin
6) navigated to forums, and compiled language EN. LOoked at FTP program and refreshed window, and UNI_EN was created, but an error did come up saying "Compile falied"
7 Refreshed the screen with the forum, and the forum was compiled and all looked good.
So I chceked all of the templates I had and made sure they all failed the compile, but they did create the _EN directory, and compile ok. Now my question is ...... DO I WORRY ABOUT THE ERROR? OR just be grateful that they work and chalk another exciting adventure with Boonex Forums?

I would say good enough, Your procedures are not in the same order i listed them in, and there is no mention if you removed these folders.
modules/boonex/forum/classes/en modules/boonex/forum/js/en
So i am not 100% sure if you completed things correctly. But they are compiled, so it's up to you if you want to leave it at that.

Well the compile error still remains in the 7.0.2 sites, but using the exact same procedure for the 7.0.3, and it comes out fine with no errors on the compile.
Yes I did delete the folders:
modules/boonex/forum/classes/en modules/boonex/forum/js/en
I think that with all the compile issues the D7 has had.... this posting should be made as a STICKY..... because it explains things that NO other docs show.
Thank you Deano.
