Force login

I wanted to pick everyones brains for ideas. Hope this is the right place to do that...LOL

I have a gaming site (bots and clans/families). My main site is dolphin and each of the clans and bots have their own smf forums. Unless they are logged in the tabs for them in Dolphin are not visible but after they first login what I am seeing is members bookmark the forum they want and then never login to the Dolphin site again and I want to force everyone to logIn to main site.

Only reason I use SMF is because that is how we started years ago. Dont know if Dolphin forums would be better for this as to be honest I have never really looked or tested.

Give me your ideas and thanks ahead of time

You can try doing this tip from the Member's Only mod (this is not my mod and ymmv):

This will prompt a user to login to view pages that you want to keep as "Members Only"

** Always make backups of each file before altering any code!

//////////////////////////// For Forum //////////////////////////////////

Edit the modules/boonex/forum/index.php

Add This:

//Check if Logged In

check_logged();

if(!isLogged()) {

login_form();

exit;

}

After This:

$ret = @include_once( $gConf['dir']['inc'].'util.inc.php' );

if (!$ret)

I could see that if I switched to Dolphin Forums but as I am currently SMF forums and not Dolphin forums I cant really see that working.

Perhaps there's something in the Page Blocks access... but if it's SMF you're trying to pw protect, then it is likely going to be something in SMF instead of Dolphin that you have to tweak.

Each SMF forum currently is Password protected but if I could force login to the main dolphin site at like www mysite.com if say a member went to www mysite.com/thissmfforum then I would kill the smf forum logins

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
