For some reason, when I upload files they are now shown. You will see a blank image of something to represent what it is supposed to be but you can not open the file. What is the cause of that?

Can anybody help me with this? |
I am not sure I follow you. The files module is design for members to upload files that can then be downloaded. There is no Boonex viewer for the files. There are a couple of modules in the market for viewing files online. The default module will not allow one to attach an image to the description. During the upload process trying to allow an html editor for the description to add an image did not work for me; the uploader is shared between the modules. What I did was to make some code changes so that after the file is uploaded, one uses the pop-up editor in the actions block to add an image to the description. I can not remember off hand what code changes I did but just wanted to describe how I added the ability for members to post an image with the file for such things as pdf files etc. I will probably at some time add a document viewer. By the way, AndrewP has his document viewer with a 50% discount for CyberMonday; send him a PM if you are interested. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Well for example, when I upload a file such as an audio file, not only will you not see an image but you won't be able to open the file either. I even tried reinstalling the default Files module but that didn't work either. |

Now of course you can share an mp3 with the files section but you can not play it. That is the way the files module work. If you want someone to be able to listen to an audio file, upload that using the sounds module. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Oh ok, Sorry for the misinterpretation. I understand now. Thanks alot GeekGirl. Please message me when you have added the document viewer, as I do not know the code for members to post images to the files. |
