Emergency Advice Needed!

I am pulling my hair out here now so maybe someone can tell me what I did wrong. Here it is in a nut shell. I have all my site files and sqls backed up to start with. Now...I was installing the new realease D.7.0.4 and accidently pushed the extract button before I placed it into another folder so it copied over all of my D.7.0.3 files. I deleted all of it and then re-downloaded my backup site, then installed Dophin, the site came back. Now I went and injected the sql back up file (mind you used same user and password as original site) and when I click on my site, the page goes to the index.php page but is totally blank, and so is administration. What am I doing wrong?

I have reinstalled my sites many times with no issues, and not sure why this is happening.

Any idea's would so greatly be appreciated.Cry

Is my inc folder supposed to be set at 555 after install? I don't ever remember it ever being that number before. Could this be my issue?

Only if PHP is running as CGI on your server. If it's not, it should be set to 755.

Okay I can get a fresh install of Dolphin up with the permissions on inc set at 555. But if I try to inject the sql backup it makes site disappear. Now before others ask, I am using a fresh downloaded install of Dolphin 7.0.3 from here. And my backup sql file is also from Dolphin 7.0.3. I did see in my header.php file that it was still using the old user name i had with Dolphin.7.0.2 so I changed to the new data base name site was running on previously, but i got a data error. Now what? If I inject sql file it will take me to a white page..lol

You need to enable error reporting in php.ini. A blank white page happens becuse a error is occuring. If php is configured not to show errors you will not see the reason why it is crapping out.

error_reporting  =  E_ALL
display_errors = On

Most servers have it off by default and set to log them instead. So you may actually have a log that shows the errors also.

Okay I am getting assistance soon so for now I just have the fresh install, and error log shows only that stupid get_rss_feed.php, which i can deal with for now. But once we inject the sql file will check the error log out again..Thanks for the tip!

This is what my php.ini file says about that deano.

Keeping display_errors enabled on a production web site
; may reveal security information to end users, such as file paths on your Web
; server, your database schema or other information.
display_errors = Off

; Even when display_errors is on, errors that occur during PHP's startup
; sequence are not displayed.

Turn that on.

display_errors = On

Then see if it tells you anything.

Okay spoke to soon with that install, not all went right so reinstalled again. Looked on my error log after I got that same white page and here is the error I get, which up tell now, never get it,and last time this error was not there so no clue.

[20-Nov-2010 03:15:06] PHP Fatal error:  Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 39200066 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/inc/classes/BxDolDb.php on line 460

Now before everyone says I need more memory, remember i can install a fresh out of the box with no issues, and can even inject old data base without this error coming up, but 3-6 times the white page after sql injection seems to be this error.

Also I run on supPHP on a linux server with php 5.2.9
