Email template alterations...

Is it possible to change the <Sender> and <Recipient> identifiers in email templates to real names rather than nicknames? Any ideas?

Hi,

following another thread here in the foruns:

"You can have the email provide the user's username instead of their ID by changing the appropriate value in the related email template. To do this, navigate to Administration > Settings > Email Templates > XXXX email message. Replace <recipientID> with <RealName> and change any associated wordage. Instead of the user's ID in the email, their username will display, instead"

This answer was provided by Magnussoft.

Regards,

Your welcome, but as I said, this solution is not mine, I just remembered reading it here in the foruns....

Anyway, I would guess you would need to do something similar and find <sendersID> or whatever it is called and replaced it also by <RealName>....but it is just a guess :)))

Maybe someone better than me can come to your rescue...

It's definitely a good start - thanks for the starting point. Hopefully someone else will know the sebder's ID reference too - it would really tidy up emails and then members would know who is who for definite.
