Edit Profile Membership Isn't Visible

I paid for an upgrade and I am noticing all types of issues/errors.  I want to change the membership status of my members and it will not show up though the block is in page builder.

can someone assist?  Thanks so much.

If this happened after the developer updated the site, then I would contact the developer and report the problem.

That sounds VERY easy but like I have emailed you before, I have had a lot of issues with things being fulfilled in a timely fashion.  Projects that should only take a few days will take nearly a month and still not complete.  Just tired of waiting and trying to figure it out myself.

The problem you have is there is no dedicated support provided by Boonex through these Forums. Any assistance you may receive through these Forums would usually be from members who use Dolphin just like you. We were all in the same position at one stage or another, some of us still are learning. I think the reason why it was recommended you go back to the developer is purely because you paid for the upgrade therefore you need to get what you paid for. People here are friendly & willing to help but it may take a while as people come & go. Like I say, there is no dedicated support here so if you have a contact following the upgrade I would go down that route & pester them until they sort it given you paid for it!

I understand and I have tried, at least 3+ times.  I only get excuses such as: I have another job, out with family, other projects, etc.  I even don't hear from them for days without an update.  So my frustration is pretty high at the moment.  Only came here to see if anyone would see this as an easy fix.  Unfortunately, they weren't too busy when the job was requested by them.  I am still learning indeed but I do what I can.

I hate to continue passing the work on because I spend even more $$$ as they must do it from scratch because the "last developer didn't do it right."  Yes, I have paid and I have sent the edits/change requests to still get more excuses about what is going on their end.  I just take screen shots and see what I must do (if possible) to get it fixed or work around it.

It's impossible to tell from a screen shot what is wrong. All i can tell you is this. That block only shows up for admins. The block also has to be set to be visible to member, but not to guest.

Also if you have any mods installed that alter admins privileges such as the multi admin access module then check it as well.

I have no record that shows you have my enhanced page block visibility mod, that mod can cause problems after upgrade because the source changes usually need to be reapplied after a upgrade is done. If you have any mods that alter the visibility of blocks, then you need to check into those as well.

If the person you hired to upgrade your site is not made aware of all mods you have that modify source code, then the fault is not entirely with the person who did the upgrade unless you told that person about all the mods you have that require source changes. If your don't tell them, they will not know.

I was just thinking about that whilst I was making a cuppa tea, lol! I was going to ask if you meant a complete upgrade of the core site or a particular module as you specifically mentioned membership as a key problem. If it is the core site you will need to ensure you have the latest compatible modules. I would disable your additional modules if you have any to establish if the errors still occur. Then one by one check the compatibility of your additional modules, upgrade them where necessary & remove those that aren't. That would be your starting point.

Deano, I understand you can't tell if there is a problem with a screen shot. Usually a screen shot is to show cosmetically how I want a design to be. The devs I would assign would have ftp access to do the work. The issue is that it would take weeks and I am placed on the back burner. Especially when they reached out to me for the work. Just a bit frustrated.

I also understand that the badge will show up for an admin. Even as admin, I am unable to change someone's membership because there isn't an option to it which I know I have had before the upgrade.

I paid to have my site upgraded from 7.0.5 to 7.1.4

I have had to repay for mods due to previous devs installing it for me under their name which I was unaware would be an issue should I look to upgrade.

When I write on the forum, I only seek help/guidance. And trust me, usually when I do post, I have spent time searching other forums first and trying to understand my issue. But I am not a web designer, just someone who is attempting not go keep throwing money away. Now daily, I spend hours trying do a lot of troubleshooting myself.

As for the dev...Please understand where I am coming from. This is not a blame game. I not only sent my problems issues with my site, the problem was the turnaround time. I paid for things to get done and weeks pass without any results. Or the dev wouldn't answer my messages. I only wanted what I paid for. That is all.

I even kept a folder of issues I'd find along the way to have fixed and it wouldn't be done as promised. I have pushed back campaigns, going live with my site for many issues that I feel will present an unprofessional site.

My initial post was only inquiring for assistance, not dev bashing. But I do know what I have gone through on more than one occasion with more than one dev.

This has been done at least from the devs and was presented with which ones didnt function correctly.  This is how I found out after the fact that the many mods I paid for, I'd have to pay for again because they weren't in my name/username bc the dev purchased and installed it for me.  Thanks.
