Drop NickNames?

Is it possible to drop nicknames all together?  If you wanted to just have

First Name and Last Name and E-mail is that possible and see true question with images attached as to what happens with default nicknames in the pictures palces........

This is most likely possible. However, it would take some intensive programming to ensure that all the http://yoursite.com/nickname links were changed to yoursite.com/profile.php?ID=id

Also, you'll obviously need to change the display in every spot on the entire site that uses a nickname...

I've tried this and run into a huge issue. I am able to change almost everything to use ID's or First and Last Names, i.e. thumbs, profile links, mail system, etc.

However, I've realized that the core of many of the  main D7 modules use NickNames for links etc (blogs, music videos, sounds, etc). This is a major issue and I have consulted with AntonLV on this. He says there is really no easy way around this and they don't even accept jobs to change Nicks to Names.
