Downloading software problem

Hi is there any reason why when i download the dolphin its not a rar file anymore , when i download it and move it from download to desktop it takes 20 min , its just saying its a zip file now , any reason . as some files cant be moved. many thanks

I can't answer your local copy problem. But i can say this.

Dolphin is not, and never has been distributed in RAR format. It has always been packed as a ZIP file.

Thats strange it always looked like a rar icon when downloaded , thanks anyway .

if your rar downloader on your pc is default or has been installed in the past then it overrules the zip file icon.
It's stupid i know... i had the same couple of years ago.

This is why I hate Windows - it hides the file extension.

its still odd i have installed winrar but the dolphin file no longer shows the icon , now its not present the file takes longer to move from one location to another weird.

You need to learn alot more about computer if you still have trouble with file extensions.

In Windows you have the options to see the file extension, thumbnails, file size, date modified etc...If Windows is so bad, 90% of the world wouldn't use it.

 You sound like the Associate Dean in my university, he never ever uses Windows but keeps talking "windows cannot do this, windows cannot do that". No sir, Windows can do whatever that Mac does, but Mac cannot do some stuff that Windows can do.

i know all this lol , just noticed the problem its winrar , a beta version has been released and has bugs , i uninstalled the new one and installed the old version , all works fine now , many thanks anyway
