Downloading purchased mods from banned developers..

Is there a way to re-download modules that have been bought where developers are no longer 'active' on boonex (as in banned or suspended...)

I have a problem with a template from DerartMedia and need to re-download it. Thing is the link in  my cart now leads to a dead end...!

MediaZone is the template. Purchased and in my account but no longer available...

 Welcome to the club...

They have the right to remove any product from the market and do NOT have to give you support anymore.

Beware of the market, Boonex assumes absolutely  NO liability for your purchases. They recently sent out a change to the "TOU" and it has a lot of changes.

I only purchase from vendors who have a website elsewhere than here.

This is taken from the "new" terms for the market.

Market

If you choose to use the BoonEx Market ("Market") the following terms and conditions apply in addition to the general Terms.

BoonEx Market is a Service provided by BoonEx that allows sellers ("Vendors") to post products and advertise services for sale to other users ("Customers").

Any disputes regarding arrangements between the Customers and Vendors of any type of products and services remain solely between Buyers and Sellers. We are not involved in any transactions between You and any other users of the BoonEx Unity web site. You acknowledge and agree that BoonEx will not be a party to any such dispute or be obligated to take any action or refrain from taking any action toward resolving any such dispute. If you have a dispute with any other users of the Site, you hereby release BoonEx from any and all claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown, related to such a dispute.

You may terminate your Market listings at any time in your sole discretion. BoonEx may remove your Market listings at any time for any reason or no reason. Removal of listings does not release Vendors or Customers from any contractual responsibilities connected to their use of BoonEx Market.

Posting any products or service advertisements to market constitutes a "Vendor" status. Vendors must read and agree to Market Terms (http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/MarketTerms) before submitting any materials to BoonEx Market.

Recap: Vendors need to agree to Market Terms. BoonEx is not responsible for any issues between Vendors and Customers.

In other words, buyer beware!!!!!!!!

Boonex will offer no support.

derartmedia was canned for his number of reports and disputes + faking technical difficulties to avoid support and refunds.  I think that calls for a suspension, no?  Customers need to contact him via email for downloads and support - I've asked BoonEx about making his stuff available for a limited time (no new sales).

newton27 is correct: BoonEx is not responsible for the Market and what happens within.  But that hasn't stopped them from writing new policies and tasking moderators with overseeing disputes and looking through reports.  Go ahead and use some other site or market, but don't come running to us (moderators) if there's an issue.

And don't ask me to undo the suspension.  It's not happening.

I didnt mention un-banning someone, thats between boonex and the developers!...

I do think that it should be in the setup so any developers who have sold to boonex customers and then are suspended etc... should have their mods kept in customers accounts who have purchased them already. Should be easy enough to sort out?

Just seems wrong that the customer is the one who loses out...

Sorry, that bit was meant for anyone reading the post.  But I'm sure someone will still ask...

That would be an ideal setup for how suspensions work in the Market, but the code isn't there.  I have neither the authority to make the call nor the knowledge of whether such a setup is in the works.  Feels bad, man.

The problem with making the product available here from the market to past customers being able to still download their modules from vendors who are no longer here will cause you more headaches down the road, if the modules are flawed to begin with and do not work correctly, as most of his did/do; why use them?

You will pay for it later when the said module does something wrong and your site screws up because of it.

I purchased several modules from said vendor and yes I still use them. Why? Because of the features included with the ones I have, I corrected the problems with the some modules. Not a single one ever worked correctly completely.

This situation brings up a point i try to stress to people all the time. But always falls on deaf ears. Backup, Backup, Backup.

I believe this really falls along the same line of keeping backup copies of your websites. You should keep backup copys of all software you purchase.

I do not buy modules from developers here. I make my own, but i do buy other software and even tho i can login to many of those places to download another copy, i still put a copy onto DVD, or more recently i have been using flash drives for all my stuff. But i keep copies of everything i buy.

So i would recommend everyone do that.

Not that this suggestion is going to help now. But it will for the future.

BoonEx is responsible for the Market and what happens within said domain name period.

If boonex was not responsible there would be no need to suspend people and remove there products.
