Done with this software

I am so disappointed in Boonex. I have been here for years and still you release crap! The facebook join screws up all the time. Once 1 person joins with their facebook account, no one else can use it. Also the regular join keeps giving errors once you click to join telling me the redirect is not working???? I have no redirect script on my site for any page. I am so tired of re-installing this software that I have decided NO MORE. Maybe one day they will get their stuff together, but after years of waiting, I doubt it. I am going to go use wordpress for now. I KNOW it works right..ughh so upsetting after I bought more items for this software. Now after years like most here, I have spent a lot of money for stuff I can't use.....No wonder the people have left this site! Is this really a company trying to create a great software, or just trying to get money????? I say it's all about the money..Shame on you Boonex.......

I cannot speak about your Facebook problem. But the join problem must be something on your site. Otherwise no dolphin script would run anywhere or?

Did you opened as thread somewhere describing this problem? 

Wordpress is not a social networking application; even if you do slap BuddyPress on top of it.

As for FaceSucks, if a member can not take the time to fill out a form and sign up, they can stay at FaceSucks.

No sure if i am looking at the wrong site or not. But i could not join do to a problem with the captcha not displaying.

I also did not even see facebook connect installed.

Also it appears JS caching is on. A lot of problems are caused by that which is one of the first things that should be shut off when there are problems. The feature is just not compatible with all servers, and some 3'rd party javascript just cannot be cached without causing errors.

Sorry Deano hit wrong button, and accidentally reported you..lol Yes I removed the facebook connect. As for geek_girls response, I'm not trying to hook up a social network site. I have a lot of clients that have facebook, so want to make it easier on them to join. As far as the captchaI could go that route but that's not what I want. I have removed that, but still have issues with denied access to blogs and the calendar. Also when I use the facebook (out of the box) connect, after 1 person signs up, it wont let another later sign up. And yes all settings allow for members and guests to see blogs.

I turned off cache and cleaned the cache and still have same issues!

Can you provide the URL here or in PM? Also, I have never trusted the default FB connect, I chose Deano's FB Connect from day 1. (just saying)

Okay re added facebook connect and the api key numbers. Please try it now and see if it will allow you to join, cause it wont me.

I joined using the regular join form without problems.

I will not be able to join using FB until i change my email address. The boonex version of FB will not work if the email address already exists. I'll test that in a minute.

As Zarcon pointed out. My Facebook connect module you will find much better.

You have the facebook app set in sandbox mode.

You need to edit the app on the facebook side. https://developers.facebook.com

Oh for petes sake. Face book changed the app editing again. Crap.

This is nutz. I have to update all my screen shots and my video yet again.

I do have a facebook app, but it loads a lot of crap from facebook that I don't want on my site. (all photos and videos from facebook).

It wont let me turn the sand box off cause I need a https addy and I don't have that. This is just a pain, maybe I will just say heck with it and hope they take the time to register the old fashion way....

 When you go to your Facebook App, there is a option called Status & Review. In the top box it asks 'Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?'. If this set to No, then choose Yes. This should take it out of Sandbox (developer) mode.

You do not need to submit for approval.

I am not sure we are on the same page here. A facebook app does not do anything on your website at all. So you are not where you should be.

Go to this URL.

https://developers.facebook.com/apps

Click on the app you using for Facebook connect. The one you got the API keys for.

On the left side you should see a link that says status and review. Click on that.

If you provide me with your APP id that you put in the fb connect module i can provide a direct link to the proper page.

Like this.  https://developers.facebook.com/x/apps/ApplicationID/review-status/ replace ApplicationID in that link with your actually facebook application id. Than on that page you should see what you need to make the app live.

You don't need a https address. You may have something else enabled that should not be.

Once i accept your friend request you can then edit the app. https://developers.facebook.com/apps and in the roles section add me as an administrator. Then i can check out the app for any problems.

My guess is that your current app has a App on Facebook platform setup with a canvas url which for website use is not suppose to be setup. There should only be a Website platform setup.

My team discussed FaceSucks once again a month ago and decided NO.  If not being able to join using a FaceSucks connect is a deal breaker for you to join our site then our site is probably not for you in the first place.  Of course if you want to click on the join button and spend less than a minute filling out the form and hitting submit; then we welcome you with open arms.

Heads up everyone; if you are not going to be running a social network, then Dolphin is not the platform you want to use.

I added you deano92964 but only shows me as admin in that section. I click add after putting your name in and nothing but page refresh.

Yes it does have a canvas url, I will remove it.

After I removed it I get this...

You can't just remove the canvas url. You need to delete the entire section using the X on the upper right of the App on Facebook section.

Deano, sent log in info for my facebook account, it wont allow me to add to admin roles

Added your name you gave and still nothing. Think I'm going to delete this app and start over

Well. i think that once you remove that App on Facebook section using the X on that section i think you will find you will be able to make it live.

I like Dolphin and have found it the best software to suit my own needs and for business ... I'm not saying that I have not encountered plenty of issues a long the way but personally would not turn back on what I have achieved with Dolphin or give up on what I do. I am also very experienced with WordPress and other software out there and work on them all day long for clients but I still choose Dolphin for my own social projects every time.
