Domain Registrar

Can anyone recommend a reliable domain registrar, I am with godaddy at the moment and they are too bureacratic and their website is confusing... largely I think to get you to purchase pre checked items.

Thanks in advance.

The original registrar, networksolutions, has some good rates on .com and .net domains.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

I use Namecheap, and it's one of the registrars I recommend to clients.

You can also set up on your own, as a reseller at Wild West Domains

Enom.com is who I use. and a lot of other big companies go through them as well.

I don't think he wants to use Go Daddy, or their reseller service (which has its own additional fees).

I resell domains via Enom and at times I am able to offer better deals than the top registrars like Godaddy or Network Solutions ...  I provide SSL certs also at fraction of price compared to the actual main companies like RapidSSL, Comodo and GeoTrust etc...

Don't surprise me one bit ... Like I said, as a reseller of enom I get whatever stuff I want / my clients want at incredible rates compared to standard going rates with other companies and the companies the stuff originally come from.

What would normally cost someone ££££'s for the very best SSL Certs I pick up at fraction of price ... same with domain names and other products / services should I want them, so for big companies like NameCheap with loads / millions of customers its EASY money.

Namecheap is a reseller of enom,

Yes, but he specifically wanted to move away from Go Daddy. From experience, their reseller interface is worse than their main account center. And then an added fee of $180+. Probably not what he wants.

Namecheap is indeed an eNom reseller, which I knew before I went with them. But their prices are good and they have a solid track record from what I've seen. I use them for domains and SSL certificates.

We looked into offering domains through Zarconia, but decided it was better to focus on the hosting and recommend solid registrars for those needing a domain. Plus we required integration with our billing system, and I'm not satisfied with the available implementations.

I am still with godaddy. I had moved all of my domains to them from networksolutions a few years back when they got greedy for awhile and jacked all their prices. At one point in time, network solutions was nearly twice what everyone else was. But it could be that everyone else was new and was offering low prices to get customers. Anyhoo.

Godaddy is getting more complex as time goes by so i may be moving all mine again soon as well.

Thinking of moving out of godaddy as well. It's getting too bloated in there that I can't breath.

I've been with GoDaddy since 1998, I have sometime disliked the index changes but who doesn't see pages change.

With the promo codes you can find on the net, I always get renewals at Wal-Mart prices!!

unless someone can purchase .info domains for less than .99 cents or .com's for $5 bucks.

I hear yah! I have never been disappointed with them, I mean really, call the support line and you will reach a tech in the US, an English, down the street tech. If your outside the US, I think they can easily support your needs.

Maybe I'm just influenced because I go to the Daytona races all the time...

She is quite the racer and not to bad looking, but that is just advertising.

This company, to me, is one of the first... and I will never switch.

Many thanks guys, I will check out a few of your suggestions.

Godaddy has one of my domains 'locked in' on 'protected'. They want me to dance through so many hoops to cancel the 'protect' service.

Too much hassle and way too complicated an interface.

Regards, Stuart

Damn ... I already have in-place and am also building another Domain Name service which is simple but effective compared.

I know from own experience how easy it is to get put off over complicated sites / services

According to them, it's a DDoS attack. Switched to their other DNS servers (DNS v1) and all is well.
