Hello
I have a domain i was changing names on and keeping the old script intact and i thought this would be a simple process. I have talk with the host and they are unable to get the new domain name to come up when you type in the new name in address bar it goes directly to old domain name which is out of service and says (server not found and refers back to old domain name) it goes to there server with old name but thats as far as it gets.
Here is what they Said

Did you change the site URL in the file inc/header.inc.php? and manually clear dolphins cache folder via ftp or cpanels file manager?

Thanks deano92964 that took care of the issue not sure why it we had so much problems just glad its fixed. If your still watching this post would you know why the branding doesn't remove itself after the license # is entered specifically About Us page and pop up. The about us page branding stayed and there was no way to edit it out in the Admin area. Even know you win the rat race your still a Rat. |

I was cloning the site recently and of course needed to change the header.inc file for the domain. Went to load the site and it was all messed up. I was thinking, "What in the world happened?" I forgot the slash after the domain name. It does not take much to cause a mess.

OK, you enter the domain for the license in your Boonex account. Then you enter the license key in the admin of your site. If you did that and are still seeing the branding, then let us know. The domain must match in the Boonex account with your site; so check to make sure it is entered correctly in your Boonex account for the license.

I believe what he is talking about on the "About Us" page is the info that is there that comes stock with Dolphin. You would need to edit the about us language key in the language editor if you wanted to change that, it isn't attached to the license. Yes, the "About Us" is not tied to the license; there is a ticket on this.

I had tried the language key edit and all i got to was About Us (system) Edit but nothing to edit in that box the only words there was (About Us) and of coarse on the frontend about us page it says ( This site is powered by BoonEx Dolphin. The rest is a mystery.) I am not sure if i'm in the right language key file if you haven't figured it out i'm a novice at this and i am just trying to get it back to square one.
As far as the license info here in Boonex it show my old domain name and number when i try to enter the lic.# it doesn't accept it and continues to say i'm using trial Copy.
Do i have to request a new license just for changing the domain name everything else stayed?
Again Thanks for the response i didn't want to take up everyones time with this but it is appreciated.

admin > Settings > Language Settings
Filter: _ABOUT_US (Check 'Apply')
In the results:
_ABOUT_US (System) Edit >Click edit
Enter the new string. Click save.

In your account section here on boonex.com, click on the link at the bottom of your license icon, then click reset. Then enter the license key in admin on your new domain. You may have to then log out, then back in for the changes to take place.

Ok the license issue is taken care of Thanks!
The about us branding is still there i tried an test sentence and saved it but the Boonex message remained on the page.
Now the( _About Us (System) Edit) and the ( _ABOUT_US_H (System) Edit) doesn't show up in the language keys anymore but the ( _About (System) Edit) is still there.
When i type in about us in the filter the only thing that comes up is ( _PRIVACY (System) Edit)
Its like they just disappeared
What could i have messed up.

The about us branding is still there
It's not branding. It's just a language key. If the text 'This site is powered by BoonEx Dolphin. The rest is a mystery' is what you want to change, maybe you should just search for 'mystery'
If you can't find it that way, then it truly is a mystery.

That took care of it i didn't realize i could filter a specific word. The filter i thought was for title search only so when i searched for the word mystery there it was Mystery Solved and now its all better.
Can't thank you all enough for taking the MYSTERY out of working this very versatile script i only hope i'll learn how to master it one day.

You can search for the key name if you know it, or you can search for all or any part of the text string assigned to the key name. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
