Your not editing /langs/lang-en directly are you?
If so, then thats whats wrong. Languages are to be edited from in admin->languages unless your importing a new language in which case you start with a export of the en language.
The files in langs folder are rebuilt each time the languages are recompiled. So they have to be edited from in admin.

Foremost, 7.4 DOES NOT EXISTS.
Second, you'll create problems when 7.4 comes.
Knock it off. It's 7.0.4, please use it.

Yes i'm
so you telling me I have to export the English from admin panel
than do the changes but how I can replace that language with out deleting the original I only have one language and I can't not delete the default because is set to primary and I don't have another one

You can't.
The import/Export is only good for use to export english to translate to a different language changing in the lang codes in the export file and then importing it as a new language.
Once a language has been installed in dolphin, the only way to properly edit it is by editing the keys from inside the admin. By looking up the key then edit it.
Boonex neglected to take re-importing an existing language into consideration. Which they should. It will make things easier by just re-importing an edited language file and it will update the existing keys. But it does not work that way.
The way you're doing it will not work, and never should have because the langs folder is basically a language cache file that gets over written each time the languages are recompiled.
It's been like this for all versions of D7 which means you have not been doing it right since day 1.

Deano - what keeps the keys edited via the Admin panel from being written over during the next update? |

Upgrades do not contain the full set of keys, only new ones. For example, the 7.0.4 to 7.0.5 upgrade only contained this.
<?php
$aLangContent = array( '_Back Invite' => 'Cancel Friend Request(s)', '_undefined' => 'undefined', );
?>
As you can see, there were only 2 new keys. All exisiting keys remain unchanged.
