Does "uninstalling" mods remove data from database

I'm used to WordPress, where you can "deactivate" a plugin but nothing is removed from the database until you delete  the plugin.

I'm having some issues and would like to roll back to before I installed a mod yesterday - will "uninstalling" them from admin remove data from the database?

Yes, uninstalling the module will delete the data and files for that module.  What is the module?  You can export the tables for the module and copy the files; if there are files, to a safe place before you remove the module in case you need to restore.

I had to upgrade a module that involved uninstalling and reinstalling; no files with this module.  I exported the data, did the upgrade, and imported the data and all was good.

I have a very detailed history/doc of what I've done and I just checked it - I did not actually install anything yesterday (not since 4 days ago) and yesterday is when I noticed the trouble. So I guess this isn't even an issue.  But I was wondering about this right from the get-go anyway, so now I know :)

Thanks for the advice. If I ever have to do this I will know what to do now.
