 I'm used to WordPress, where you can "deactivate" a plugin but nothing is removed from the database until you delete the plugin. I'm having some issues and would like to roll back to before I installed a mod yesterday - will "uninstalling" them from admin remove data from the database? |

Yes, uninstalling the module will delete the data and files for that module. What is the module? You can export the tables for the module and copy the files; if there are files, to a safe place before you remove the module in case you need to restore. I had to upgrade a module that involved uninstalling and reinstalling; no files with this module. I exported the data, did the upgrade, and imported the data and all was good. I have a very detailed history/doc of what I've done and I just checked it - I did not actually install anything yesterday (not since 4 days ago) and yesterday is when I noticed the trouble. So I guess this isn't even an issue. But I was wondering about this right from the get-go anyway, so now I know :) Thanks for the advice. If I ever have to do this I will know what to do now. |
