Do i need to upgrade site to latest version of IE?

Ok,  so a small question?( I try not to ask the stupid questions, but here we go)

Do I need to upgrade site to latest versions of IE?

I have 7.0.0 and 7.0.2.

I only ask, because it seems like I always have a problem in Internet explorer!

I am on IE 8 for test puposes.

Any extra info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Derrick

Make your decision to upgrade your sites based on the fact that Boonex releases updates to fix problems and increase functionality from previous versions.  IE has had a history of issues with D7, particularly with the Admin area.  D7.0.5 seems to work well with IE8, and a Wall issue in IE7 is now gone in IE8.

Thanks, so if i wanted to upgrade my site with the newest edition of internet explorer, I will have to upgrade my 7.0.0 and my 7.0.2 site to the newest dolphin addition? Is this right?

Thank you for your answers!Smile

There is some misunderstanding here.  IE is not integrated into Dolphin.  The use of any particular version of IE has nothing to do with the version of Dolphin for your site.  It is to your benefit to upgrade to the latest version of Dolphin simply because it is a better version and will work better regardless of which browser you use.  It happens that some problems I've noticed in IE have been resolved in D7.0.5.  So it is likely your members who use IE will have a better site experience if you upgrade your site.

I hope that answers your question.

BTW, if you decide to upgrade, unless you feel confident to be able to do this yourself, you might want to consider a competent upgrade service since I am not aware of any direct upgrade from 7.0 to 7.0.5.  You will have to upgrade all the versions in series: 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3, 7.0.4, 7.0.5.

That was the answer that I was looking for.

I didnt know if I had to upgrade files with latest browsers or not, so this is good news. I will consider upgrading but not until 7.0.5 is debugged, I just got most of all the bugs worked out on theses other levels. and dont want too grab a bunch of new bugs. Thank you so much for the info!

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
