Discus Forum is reportedly the number one forum software in China. I figured 2 billion people can't be wrong, so I had a look. Of course the original versions are in Chinese, but this website maintains an English version: http://codersclub.org/discuzx/forum.php
The code repository is here: http://discuzx25.googlecode.com/ and you need TortoiseHG to access it, available here: http://tortoisehg.bitbucket.org/
I've attached a zip archive of the installation package. To install, upload the files to a subdirectory, and browse to the subdirectory where you uploaded the files. You'll have to create a database and change some folder permissions, but we should all be pretty used to that by now.
My first impressions have been pretty good. I have it installed on a private test site, so I can't show a demo, but installation is very straightforward. I actually installed it in my Dolphin database, because the installation script allows you to specify a table prefix, making it easy to remove if you need to.
It has a very nice wysiwyg editor with image upload built in, and some good moderation tools.
Maybe someone can do a demo install for others to look at. I just can't do it without disclosing urls that I need to keep private for now.
This looks like it would be a good fit for Dolphin.
